Netflix has just released the first images of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom which will come to Netflix on December 18th. This was the last film that Chadwick Boseman completed before his unfortunate passing. Chadwick rose to fame in his first major role as Jackie Robinson in 42. He became a superstar when he became the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom stars Viola Davis as the lead role, with an all star cast around her. The film is directed by George C. Wolfe and is adapted from the popular screenplay by August Wilson. The story revolves around a recording session by Ma Rainey aka “Mother of the Blues” as discussions of race and American society are brought forward.
The supporting cast includes Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo (a personal favorite actor of mine), and Michael Potts, and Denzel Washington is a producer.
