Mark Hamill has had a lot of input recently on a couple of the relationships in Star Wars. A week or so ago, the actor posted a poem he wrote for Finn and Poe, the friends that some Star Wars fans wanted to be more than friends. He has now addressed an issue from the original trilogy, the sibling kiss with his sister Leia.
This has always been one of the more bizarre parts of Star Wars but has given us fans many jokes and memes over the years. It’s not something you would see in a lot of films from the time period, and the scene takes the term family film to a whole new weird level. You can check out the Twitter post made by Hamill below.
SNL Weekend Update-"The new #StarWars surprised fans by featuring a gay kiss-which seems pretty tame considering the 1st movie had incest" WRONG! Since Luke & Leia were totally unaware that they were related in any way whatsoever-what they did was actually #Innocestuous. 💋😚😳🙄 pic.twitter.com/B4EnBr2OCv

Yeah, technically, I guess. I’m not sure how their ignorance exonerates them from their Appalachian smooch, but whatever, I’ll go with it, I mean, it’s Hamill, he’s awesome. I will say that it would have made things much worse had they continued to do it after they found out. Yes, it’s one of the oddest, and yet most memorable scenes in the film.
