I love the internet. I also love to hate the internet. It seems like there are often no limits its inventiveness, but at times, it almost feels like there is no limit to its stupidity.
So what the hell am I leading up to? Well, let me tell you. As I’m sure you all know, Netflix recently dropped their original Sandra Bullock-starring film Bird Box, which saw her and many other characters having to do all sorts of things while blindfolded, in an attempt not to see the thing that basically kills you (but it only does so if you see it). Naturally, it seems like people online have done the logical things…dangerous things while blindfolded. Here’s a post Netflix made on their official Twitter account:
“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”

To be honest, a good number of people are being smart about the Bird Box Challenge — resorting to harmless little challenges in their homes. But there are also plenty of other idiots out there doing dangerous things like going up escalators and around moving sidewalks.
In short, don’t be that idiot. Don’t do stupid stuff blindfolded.
