Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias | Allison Gabriel Interview [Exclusive]

Allison Gabriel in Sweet Magnolias

One of the best successful book adaptations on Netflix is with its dramatic series Sweet Magnolias. The series has likable characters, Southern charms, family conflicts, and relatable situations. As with any series on the screen, there has to be a conflict with a quasi-villain, in which Allison Gabriel’s Mary Vaughn Lewis fills in perfectly in that antagonist role.

The Netflix series is set to premiere early tomorrow as fans eagerly await the three best friends of Maddie Townsend, Dana Sue Sullivan, and Helen Decatur, as they navigate through their lives in the small town of Serenity.

The season one cliffhanger left off with an automobile accident that made the friends become closer and expanded a rift with their personal rival Mary Vaughn Lewis.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actress Allison Gabriel, who plays the best friends’ adversary in their personal lives. For season two, Mary Vaughn Lewis takes a bigger adversarial role from real estate to baseball and even their teens’ relationships. Their personal rivalry makes the series’ stories even more memorable and talkable around the water cooler.

With Allison Gabriel, we discussed her character, the other cast members, the town, and even getting into makeup and costume. Also, without specific spoilers, we talked about the trajectory of Mary Vaughn and hopes to go beyond possibly for season three.
