New Gods: Director Ava DuVernay May Take Fan Casting Choices Into Consideration

Fans are opinionated people. And we should be. Oftentimes, we tend to love a property that’s being adapted into a film even more than those shepherding it to the big screen. We’ve been following these characters for decades, and they hold a special place in our hearts. So, whenever it’s announced that a new character is headed to the big screen, there are plenty of us out there sharing our thoughts on who should be cast.

New Gods is no different. Director Ava DuVernay has been on board for quite a long time, and some fans have been wondering at what stage of the process she’s on.

“Since you asked so nicely,” DuVernay typed on Twitter. “Working on the script with @TomKingTK and dreaming of actors. Seeing most of the incredible fan casting that’s going on. May in fact be taking some notes.”

So, let it be known, fans. While we may type away at our keyboards in the dark corners of the internet, some of this stuff is actually getting out there and reaching those in creative positions. Never in history have we been so connected to those in power, and it’s cool to see it actually taking effect in some way.

What do you think of this and do you have any particular picks for any of the New Gods? Let us know your thoughts down below!
