Now Charles Dance Says He Would Sign Game Of Thrones Remake Petition – Still Never Happen

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - Game of Thrones spin-off (prequel) Hedge Knight series will shoot in Spring, 2024.

Yesterday we covered a story about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau jokingly saying he’d sign the Game Of Thrones remake petition. Now Charles Dance says he would sign it, and he’s not joking. Dance, of course, played bad guy Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, father to Coster-Waldau’s Jaime. Tywin was killed on the privy by his son Tyrion at the end of Season 5, but he still watched the show and enjoyed it.

Whilst Dance is still appreciative of how good the show was in earlier seasons, he also admits to not liking the ending. Dance caught up with Popculture.com to promote his new National Geographic series, Savage Kingdom. Here is what he said when told about the petition.

“Well if there was a petition, I would sign it.”

As for his reasons?

“I mean, I saw it. I continue to watch the whole series even after I’d been killed off in the lavatory. Because I just thought it’s a fantastic television show, you know? I was very lucky to be part of it. I loved it; there were storylines [where] I wanted to know what was going to happen to these people! I know that the finale satisfied a lot of people. It also disappointed a lot of people, and I’m afraid I am in the latter camp. I think David and Dan raised the bar when it came to television screenplay writing. They are phenomenal. And for the whole thing to end up as a committee, I just thought, ‘Hmm, no.’ I would say I was somewhat underwhelmed by.”

Well, I agree, Mr. Dance. I wish to visit an alternate Universe where Benioff and Weiss realized they were board and left it for someone else to finish off. However, that’s just not feasible, and neither is a remake. Game of Thrones fans just need to accept that the ending was a little rushed. For the true ending to the story we fell in love with, we’re going to have to wait for George Martin to finish those damn books.

Would you sign the Game Of Thrones remake petition? Or, like me, do you just learn to accept mediocrity until we get the true story in the books? Leave your thoughts below as always.
