Paul Feig Would Love To See His Ghostbusters Cross Over With Afterlife

I’m sure some of you Ghostbusters fans would love to hear more about this. In case you’re new here, back in 2016, Paul Feig directed an all-female reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise. Fans hated the movie before the script was even penned, but even beyond the irrational hate, it was admittedly a film that didn’t feel like the original one.

But, to Feig’s credit, he’s always stood by his movie, and he’s also been supportive of the upcoming re-reboot, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. But how would he feel about his team somehow crossing over with the new film? He pointed to some stuff currently existing in comic books.

“What’s so great, in the comic book world, they’ve done a lot of crossover ones where there’s like an interdimensional rip and our team joins up with the original Ghostbusters,” told journalists at the TCA. “So the fact that that’s already been laid and made comic book canon, anything could happen so who knows.”

“I would love to see that team come back,” Feig continued. “We had so much fun making that movie, for whatever controversy it caused. The fact that so many kids love that, that we won the Nickelodeon Best Movie of the Year Award that year makes me very happy.”

Though, you can rest easy. Given how poorly received the movie was, it’s doubtful this would ever happen. Additionally, we still have no idea how this new movie is going to fare. While it looks promising to someone like me, I’m not a huge Ghostbusters fan, so I’m not exactly the best person to judge what is or isn’t acceptable.
