A new trailer for the Rami Malek led Freddy Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody has been released. The trailer touches on Mercury’s private life more so than the first trailer, and also gives focus to the bands struggle to get played on the radio. A legend, Mercury truly had one of rock’s greatest voices, and Queen was one of the more unique and original bands in rock history.
While we have only seen two trailers, it looks like Rami Malek is going to deliver a fantastic performance, and could possibly even get an Oscar nomination.
Bohemian Rhapsody is co-directed by Bryan Singer and Dexter Fletcher from a screenplay by Anthony McCarten. The film stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. Members of the band will be portrayed by Gwilym Lee as guitarist Brian May, Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon and Ben hardy as Roger Taylor. Also appearing are Mike Myers and Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones).
The film’s official synosis follows below
“Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music, and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that was always more like a family and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers, and music lovers to this day.”
