The Mandalorian is shaping up nicely from what this outsider can tell, seems like they have a good production team, interesting directors and a damn fine cast assembling. But all we really know about the upcoming Star Wars TV series is that it will revolve around Pedro Pascal’s The Mandalorian, a lone gunman/warrior and that it will be set around 5 years post Return of the Jedi.
That being said it doesn’t stop us from being curious when the latest round of rumors surface for the show, in this case, a possible surprise character making an appearance. According to Star Wars scoop site Making Star Wars, they have confirmed that the helmet was worn by Sabine Wren, from animated show Star Wars: Rebels has been seen on set.

Now, the outlet does go on to say this is not any confirmation that Sabine will be a character in The Mandalorian, her helmet could be on set for some other reason. All they can confirm at this time is that her helmet was seen on set. There is a connection, possibly, between Sabine and the Mandalorian, because Sabine is from Mandalore and her helmet is therefore similar to that used by Jango and Boba Fett, along with Pedro Pascal’s currently unnamed character also.
We also have Dave Filoni exec producing and writing for The Mandalorian and as we know, he was the showrunner for Star Wars: Rebels. Got to say that for all we know this could be a simple as her showing up in one scene of one episode, or it could be an off-screen reference of some kind. The voice actor who played Sabine Wren in Rebels (Gina Carano) doesn’t to me have the same kind of look that would enable her to play the live action version, but who knows?
Would you like to see Sabine Wren show up in The Mandalorian, or would you prefer her character remained a part of Rebels alone?
