The Barside Buzz over the weekend had rumored details on The Sentry in Thunderbolts. Though we’ve known for some time Steven Yeun was playing Sentry in Thunderbolts, we did recently get some confirmation of that. See the related article below for those details. However, since then we have some new rumors from regular leaker CWGST.

‘In Marvel’s ‘THUNDERBOLTS’, The Void is NOT just the embodiment of Bob Reynolds’ negative aspects/emotions. It becomes an entire realm that the characters will be able to enter in the third act.’

Then after some fans argued this made no sense from the comments, the leaker posted this one.

Given my age Sentry didn’t even exist when I was reading comics. Therefore, I am certainly not getting into the debate about the comics on this character. That being said, course I know who Sentry is and a little about his stories. Personally I cannot say I was particularly a fan of the concept. He was overpowered and the whole ret-conning him into events (that I did read as a kid) didn’t make me go and chase his comics.

I never thought we’d get Sentry in the MCU. However, there’s no guarantee the character will match his comics character that accurately. It would not be outside of the norm to see quite a change for this movie version. Therefore I’ll say the concept claimed above does intrigue me. However, as with all stories, it will be down to the execution within the context of the movie.

Though, since Thunderbolts hasn’t even filmed yet, we will have a while to wait before we see how this plays out. I think the concept behind this movie seems for for now. Let’s see if they can pull it off. As always, take all rumors with a pinch of salt.
