Last Friday saw a whole host of announced MCU projects, but where does that leave us with rumored unannounced MCU projects? As always until things become official they can change. However Murphy’s Multiverse has put together not only a guess of release dates for official MCU projects, but also what they think else is far along in the development process.
According to the insider Charles Murphy, the following projects are all in active development and could be the next announced MCU additions. Murphy is not 100% on whether these are movies or Disney+ shows for now. When it comes to movies, we know what is coming right through until 2023. However for Disney+ plans have only been revealed through to 2022. Secret Warriors, Ghost Rider, Illuminati, Young Avengers. A few other rumored projects were mentioned however these four Murphy says are farthest along in the development cycle.

Murphy does say that of these four projects, he thinks Young Avengers is most likely to be a movie. It’s just a guess, but the same guess I’d make myself. Ghost Rider to me would be better as a Disney+ show, or better still a Disney-Hulu type R-rated show. Secret Warriors would make sense as a show and in my opinion so would Illuminati. My issue with Illuminati is that surely it has to come after Fantastic Four? Unless Strange is in an Illuminati with himself? Remember we don’t have Black Panther, though a new Panther could rise in Black Panther 2? We don’t yet have Charles Xavier, and Tony Stark is dead.
I guess time will tell and considering how far things have been announced, it could be a while before we glimpse what is next. I have to also say that none of the four mentioned projects particularly excites me as a fan, yet. The idea of a ‘Young Avengers’ actually fills me with dread. I imagine a campy kid-friendly teen drama, and I really should not. For films about teenagers, I love the two MCU Spider-Man films.
