According to the star himself, Ryan Reynolds wrote a Christmas Deadpool movie prior to the sale of Fox to Disney. Reynolds will of course play Deadpool for the first time in the MCU when he appears in Deadpool 3 alongside another X-Fox star Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. However during an interview with Big Issue (via THR), Reynolds says they have a fully written Christmas Deadpool movie that’s sitting on the shelf.
“I would love to see a song-and-dance number in a Deadpool movie,” Reynolds said. “Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and it never got made.”
The star continued, “Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full Deadpool Christmas movie. So one day.”
One wonders, could this script be adapted into a Christmas Special for next year on Disney+? Making it a movie doesn’t feel right for the MCU, but a Christmas Special feels like it might be up Kevin Feige’s street.

Deadpool 2 already got a Christmas version called Once Upon a Deadpool. It would probably be quite a fun thing to see as a Special. However I can’t see me rushing to theaters for this one if they ever went down that route. But hey, that’s just me. I’m not the biggest Deadpool fan, never have been. Many of the reasons I disliked Deadppol were the same reasons I was never into She-Hulk. I don’t like fourth wall breaking in an otherwise serious universe. Nor am I fan of all out humor in Marvel in General. However, I’m not the main character in life, so it’s what you like yourself that’s important.
