Samuel L. Jackson has portrayed some of the most memorable and iconic characters in cinema history. Being part of some of the larger franchises ever. Jackson, who turned 70 last month has been an actor for more than three decades now and with all the roles he has played, narrowing down a favorites list of even 10 would be difficult.
Jackson recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and during their talk, Fallon aske Jackson to break down his five favorite roles that he has played. Jackson first mentioned Nick Fury, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course Fury belongs on that list, he is a huge part of the MCU and has appeared in several films. Jackson couldn’t narrow it down to just five, so he lumped his characters form the films of Quentin Tarantino together, the characters were Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction, Stephen from Django Unchained and Ordell, from one of Tarantino’s lesser talked about films, Jackie Brown.

Jackson certainly couldn’t leave off his Jedi character, Mace Windu, who was mentioned next. No matter your opinion on the Star Wars prequels, Mace was a badass, and was extrememly close to taking down Emperor Palpatine and saving the galaxy, had it not been for Anakin’s betrayal.
Jackson’s number one was an unexpected one, Mitch Henessy from The Long Kiss Goodnight, a film in wihch Geena Davis was also starred. It’s a really good film, but with all the iconic characters Jackson has played over the years, it’s a surprising number one in my opinion.
As for me personally, my top five, in no specific order would be, Jules, Mace, Nick Fury, Frozone, and Mr. Glass, who was left off of Jackson’s own top five. Actually his character Zeus from Die Hard 3 may end up replacing one of the others, I would have to think about it some more.
