Several Rumors Regarding Resident Evil 8

Back in 2017 Capcom released Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a survivor horror game that decided to take a different route than it’s predecessors Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. This game took players back to the days of exploration, which is one of the best parts of the Resident Evil franchise. Last year we went back in time and got a remake of the popular classic Resident Evil 2 and now we are close to a remake of another classic Resident Evil 3. But what about going forward? What can we expect from a possible Resident Evil 8?

Well there are many rumors circulating the web that we would like to share with you, some which seem more credible that others. Again these are rumors so take these as you will. According to leaker Dusk Golem via The Biohazard Declassified, Resident Evil 8 has been in development since 2016, but the project had been scrapped about seven months ago and since then they have been completely re-working it. This does go against another rumor that Resident Evil 8 will be supposedly announced along with the PlayStation 5 next month.

This also lead to other rumors to be picked up by The Biohazard Declassified about some aspects of the game. One of the rumors which also challenges the rumor above is that the game was tested last year. Another one is that Resident Evil 8 will have different more clever title than “Resident Evil 8”. It will run like Resident Evil 7 in a first person view and Ethan will be returning as a playable character. The game play will start in a village and end up in a castle in an environment that will be rural, snowy and mountainous and will possibly take place in Europe. Instead of the Molded from the previous game, this game will see a return of “regular” zombies and there will be a shadowy female enemy that will follow you throughout the game but will dissipate if shot. Also there will be an addition of wolf like creatures that will attack players in certain areas. Last but certainly not least, that Chris Redfield will be coming back in some capacity.

Again these are all just rumors, but at least it gets us talking about the possibilities for the next Resident Evil game that is not a re-make. For now we will have to take a wait and see approach and see if they mention this game at all next month. What is something that you would like to see in the next Resident Evil game?
