Solo: A Star Wars Story – The Film May Be The Most Expensive Star Wars Film Ever Made

Solo: A Star Wars Story is the most expensive Star Wars film to date, coming in with a budget of around $250 million. The estimated budget would put Solo on the list of the most expensive films ever made. The film’s now famously troubled production could be at least one reason for the increased cost of the film.

The Han Solo origin film narrowly beats out The Force Awakens, which had a budget of $245 million. The Last Jedi and Rogue One both had budgets of over $200 million, but they don’t top the estimated budget of Solo.

The first Star Wars film, A New Hope, had an $11 million dollar budget, which wouldn’t even cover the talent for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Even adjusted for inflation, that $11 million comes out to under $50 million.

Solo still hasn’t managed to hit that certified fresh mark, currently sitting at 72 percent. While I am not a huge fan of the sequel trilogy, I hope Solo is successful because I would like to see Disney keep playing in the anthology world. So far, Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars film made by Disney. Regardless of the production, Solo is a Star Wars film, and it should have no problem turning a profit.
