Back in October, a Sony executive said the studio was on track to release a teaser trailer for Spider-Man 3 sometime this December (the two previous Spidey films had teasers debut in December). However, the month is almost over and it’s looking less and less likely fans will see that footage before year’s end. Insider Daniel Richtman, says the studio suits want to close the deal with Tobey Maguire before revealing any footage. You can find a tweet from Richtman down below.
I hear they want to close things with Tobey before showing us anything. They need that money shot

Now, this may be an unusual situation. Maguire may have agreed to appear late in the process, or for all we know hasn’t agreed to return and has no plans to do so. This is just speculation on my part, but Kevin Feige seems like a guy who would have the business side of things, such as contracts, taken care of long before filming begins.
Seeing how the sorcerer supreme’s sequel is titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Strange appearing in Spider-Man 3, It seems like Maguire (along with others) showing up is much like Thanos, inevitable.
Remember, the House of Mouse always gets what it wants, always.
