I don’t know about you all, but I think there are a lot of shining points about the MCU’s version of Spider-Man. Of course, at its core, you have Tom Holland as Spider-Man. However, I think the filmmakers have done an amazing job at surrounding Peter Parker with lots of fun and interesting characters, including his best friend Ned, and of course, his love interest, MJ, played by Zendaya. 

Last year, there was a bit of a SNAFU over Spider-Man, if you’ll recall. For a solid month, the character wasn’t expected to return to the MCU. And with that, everyone else’s part seemed to be one big question mark. Now, months have passed, and we know Spidey will have one more movie and will appear in a couple more MCU flicks, but what about his supporting cast?

You’d be forgiven to assume it’s all been set in stone, because it’s the logical thing to do, but the reality is we don’t really know the state of anyone’s contract outside of Tom Holland, and as such, it’s always nice to confirm when someone has been officially brought on. In a piece chronicling 100 of the most powerful people in Hollywood, Zendaya is reported to be returning in the third Spidey film.

There are no further details about this, but it makes sense. When we last saw MJ, she had just learned Spider-Man’s identity and was right next to him when Peter’s identity was revealed to the rest of the world. I imagine her support will play at least a partial role in the conflict to come. And given that she’s basically an all-new character, they can really do whatever they want with her.
