SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING: Leaked Call Sheet Reveals Inclusion Of A Shocking Villain

By now you’ve heard that Vulture is going to be the main baddie in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And, if you thought the film would follow the similar comic book movie trope of having a single villain for the first film, then multiple villains in sequels…you’d be wrong. According to a document that purports to be a leaked call sheet from the production of Spider-Man: Homecoming, there’s going to be another baddie in Tom Holland’s first solo outing as Peter Parker.

The document appeared on Reddit, and was quickly deleted, but not before being saved by many a watchful eye. So I’ll share it below, but first, here’s the big shocker: Bokeem Woodbine is playing…The Shocker!

Here’s the call sheet, which has a few other revelations on it that we’ll discuss below:

One of the other big reveals here is that Angourie Rice is playing another iconic character from the Spider-Man mythos, Betty Brandt. Granted, they spell her name a little differently here (Brandt instead of Brant), but it’s proof that the new production isn’t going to shy away from characters that were established in previous iterations of Spider-Man. Brant was played by Elizabeth Banks in the Sam Raimi trilogy.

One of the other interesting pieces of trivia to come out of this call sheet is what’s going on with Kenneth Choi. Some were a little perplexed when he was announced as part of the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast since he was already established as another character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he appeared as Jim Morita, one of the Howling Commandos in Captain America: The First Avenger. Considering that Homecoming is set in the same world as The First Avenger, but with over a 70+ year difference in time, how would they explain Choi’s involvement in this movie?

Well, he’s listed here as “Principal Morita,” which means that it’s more than likely that Choi is playing the grandson of his The First Avenger character. It should be interesting to see how, or if, they incorporate that element into the script, since his grandpa fought alongside Cap in WWII and now one of the students at his school is secretly Spider-Man.

Also of note, everyone else on that call sheet seems to be involved with scenes that take place at Midtown High School. They’re coaches, classmates, and teachers. If Woodbine’s Herman Shultz is filming on the same day as all of these people, it could mean that The Shocker is going to show up at Peter’s school at some point in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Lastly, on the trivia front, Zendaya is still being listed as her secret code name “Michelle” here. Yesterday, news broke that she’s actually playing Mary Jane Watson.

For totally personal, geeky reasons I also like seeing that there’s a character named Morita in the movie. Why? Because this film is rumored to borrow its tone from some of the great coming-of-age teen movies of the 1980s, and one of the best of the bunch of was The Karate Kid, which starred Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi. So if we’re thinking in those terms, it’s kind of cool that Peter will have a Mr. Miyagi of his own in Spider-Man: Homecoming. I know. I’m a nerd. Shut up.

For now, we have to regard this leaked call sheet as nothing more than a rumor. We’ll let you know if anything comes of it.

In the meantime, what do you think of the possibility of The Shocker showing up in Spider-Man: Homecoming?
