Star Trek: Discovery S5 | Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise on Ending Strong for Final Season

It is close to nearing the end of the U.S.S. Discovery.

The crew under Captain Michael Burnham is on its final voyage as the universe again hangs in the balance in season five of Star Trek: Discovery.

Co-showrunners and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise have meticulously crafted a season-ending narrative that not only bids farewell to our beloved crew but also delves deep into the intricacies of their relationships, leaving us with a bittersweet yet satisfying conclusion.

Here is the official description of season five of Star Trek: Discovery:

The fifth and final season will find Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well…dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.

Star Trek: Discovery season five cast members include Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira), and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). This season also has recurring guest stars Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll).

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with co-showrunners and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise on the preview of the final season of Star Trek: Discovery.

Alex Kurtzman is best known for his work on the Star Trek franchise since 2009. He co-wrote the scripts for 2009’s Star Trek and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness. He co-created many Star Trek shows, including Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. He co-wrote the scripts for 2007’s Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Amazing Spider-Man, and 2017’s The Mummy.

Michelle Paradise began her career with the short film The Ten Rules: The Lesbian Survival Guide in 2002. Her success led to the development of Exes and Ohs, which ran for two seasons. In 2013, she became a staff writer for the CW series The Originals, a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. She joined the writing staff and co-executive producer of Star Trek: Discovery in its second season.

The final season of Star Trek: Discovery premieres on Paramount+, with the first two episodes of the 10-episode season on Thursday, April 4. New episodes drop weekly on Thursdays after that.
