The Cassian Andor Star Wars show should really be further along. However, like most live-action productions, things have been delayed. It looks as though the pieces are finally moving ahead though. According to Deadline, who rarely get casting stories wrong, Adria Arjona has landed a role in the show.
Arjona (6 Underground) is playing an unknown role at this time. However the outlet says it’s a lead role alongside Diego Luna, could she be a character important to Cassian, someone that perhaps doesn’t make it as far as Rogue One? That’s pure speculation on my part, because she could be playing anyone at this point. Disney declined to comment when approached by the outlet, but that’s standard fare. I have not seen much of Arjona personally, so I have no good or bad feelings about this piece of casting. In fact, that kinda describes how I feel about the Cassian Andor show in general.

We know very little about the Cassian Andor show. With Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy on board to write the pilot and direct some episodes, one can make a few guesses. I would assume a somewhat darker story, Rogue One is less of a family movies and that’s where this story can work. The darker side of the Rebellion as opposed to the heroic side would pique my interest. We know that Rogue One actors Alan Tudyk and Genevieve O’Reilly will return as K-S20 and Mon Mothma respectively. I’d expect more and more senior Rebels to be brought back for the Cassian Andor show as well. We also have Stellan Skarsgard in an unknown role.
There’s no official start date yet for Cassian Andor, and no official release date. My Guess would be soon for the former and this time next year for the latter. Are you excited for the Cassian Andor Star Wars show? What do you think of Arjona’s casting? Leave your thoughts below as always.
