It looks like there’s a minor hiccup in the upcoming series Jupiter’s Legacy. This is a show from the folks at Netflix that was concocted under their deal with Millarworld’s Mark Millar, and is based on the comic of the same name, which began publication back in April of 2013, and the source material is considered to be the crown jewel of the Millarworld brand.
The hiccup in question comes from showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. Known for his work on the first season of Daredevil, DeKnight as reportedly left the project following the four episodes’ production being completed of its initial eight-episode run. The reason behind it is the ever-predictable “creative differences.”
Search is currently underway for a replacement for DeKnight, and with their ship seemingly rudderless, one would expect them to have to take a hiatus. However, as it stands, there seem to be no plans for a hiatus, and they hope to make a smooth transition.
When the new showrunner does come on board, the plan looks to be for them to review the already-shot footage and settle on a creative direction before making any decisions about possible reshoots. This sounds like quite the tall order, and I’m sure the folks on board the series are feeling the heat.
