Stranger Things Gets A Sesame Street Parody

A new Sesame Street parody has emerged on the internet, this time the long running educational program has decided to give Stranger Things the Sesame Street treatment. The video, titled, “Sharing Things,” has our old friend the Cookie Monster playing the part of a much less vicious, but still very hungry ‘Cookiegorgon’ in search for yummy Halloween treats.

The video is a lesson in sharing, as once the Cookiegorgon comes to our world from the ‘snackside down’, and selfishly eats all the treats, he is taught by the other kids about sharing. It is ‘strange’ how the right accessories and hair can make the puppets look like the characters. The video makes many references to the show and even takes some friendly jabs at Barb and in the nicest way possible, makes light of the addition of Eleven’s sister, Eight.

Sesame Street has taken on other shows such as The Walking DeadGame of Thrones, and movie franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Twilight and Harry Potter. I enjoy these videos and think they provide a nice way for younger kids to experience the great shows that we adults do, albeit, in a toned down and more kid-friendly manner.
