With CW’s Supergirl returning next Monday January 15, CW has released their first official promotional photo of Mon-El, played by Chris Wood, in his Legion of Super-Heroes costume. One of the few noticeable traits of the costume is the blank pentagonal area in the center of his chest. Other than that the costume is very bland as it mostly resembles a typical leather jacket (see below).
In the comics, Mon-El also goes by the name Lar Gand but is known as Valor. He is a Superman-level power who has issues with his memories of his past. It is important to note that in the CW Supergirl series, Lar Gand was actually Mon-El’s father and not the same person. It is unknown for now is Mon-El will eventually go by the name Valor in the series.
With Supergirl aka Kara Danvers in a coma thanks to her fight with Reign, Mon-El takes action and calls in Braniac-5 to try and wake her.
Here’s also a look at Saturn Girl in her outfit:
Here is the full synopsis for the 10th episode of Season 3:
MEET THE LEGION – Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her.
Although I am excited to see Legion members on television, I have been completely underwhelmed by the costume designs of both Reign and now Mon-El. What do you think of Mon-El’s and Saturn Girl’s costumes? Let us know below!
