Superman: Legacy Rumored Middle-Eastern Conflict To Play A Part In Plot | Barside Buzz

According to a recent report Superman: Legacy is to film in March 2024, and we also have a new brief synopsis.

The Barside Buzz has a new, and an old rumor that says a Middle-Eastern conflict will play a part in the plot of Superman: Legacy. The new information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. The scooper says that at least a part of the plot of the movie will revolve around a Middle-Eastern conflict. He also says the fictional nation of Bialya is involved. It is worth noting this nation has appeared in DC comics before for that region. It is also where the Blue Beetle scarab is supposedly originally from.

There are no more details from this source. However, it’s similarity to a previous report we didn’t cover has to be addressed. Grace Randolph, who to be fair usually has legit leaks for DC projects posted some rumored plot details some time ago. The reason I didn’t cover these at the time? Well, it came on the heel of Randolph almost arguing with James Gunn about the details of his movie he said she got wrong. Ergo, her hit rate to that point with this movie was not good.

This rumor was however never addressed by Gunn, and now we have a second insider saying something very similar. So let’s look at what Randolph had to say almost a month ago.

Remember that this was prior to the casting announcement for many of the secondary roles. We now know several secondary heroes are already cast in the movie. They are definitely not the Authority, and that group of characters fits more with JSA.

I guess the one thing that some fans have pushed back on with this rumor is how similar it sounds to the plot of Black Adam. JSA, ME conflict, and a hero greater than any of them in the middle. However, given the character differences between Adam and Superman, I think you could likely say that’s where the similarities would end.

If Randolph is right, Superman is doing what he think is right to stop a conflict, and the other heroes disagree with his methods. That is a very different prospect from Black Adam. Where the JSA ignored what was happening in Kandahar until Adam showed up, then went off to deal with him.

I’m sure there is a lot more than this to Superman: Legacy, that’s if any of this is even true. Remember that very few people will have seen that script so far as production hasn’t even been booked. The plan originally was I believe to shoot early 2024. However, who knows when the strikes will now end to enable that to happen? Once filming begins, we may then be able to confirm or debunk this plot rumor. Until then, all we can do is wait and see?

What do you think of this rumored Middle-Eastern conflict that will play a part in the plot of Superman: Legacy? As always, thoughts below.
