The Batman is a film that really pushes the definition of long-awaited. It’s been years since the first mention of it, and now with its production, along with many others, shut down due to the pandemic, the wait has been extended.
Colin Farrell, who has been cast as the Penguin in the film recently spoke with GMAnews and hinted at what he called some ‘tasty’ scenes for his character. You can check out what he had to say below.
“I had only started it and I can’t wait to get back. The creation of it, the aesthetic of the character, has been fun and I really am so excited to get back and explore it. And I haven’t got that much to do. I have a certain amount in the film. I am not all over it, by any means. But there are a couple of… some tasty scenes I have in it, and my creation, and I can’t wait to get back. Yeah, I totally feel like it is something that I have not had the opportunity to explore before. It feels original and fun. But I am only at the start of the journey so I can’t wait to get back and really get into it.”
I like Farrell as Penguin. He probably isn’t the first actor to come to mind when the role is mentioned, but I think he’s one of those choices that will be looked back upon as brilliant. Matt Reeves seems to have put everything he has into this film. For months after he took over, we had almost no information on the film. And just when things appeared to get rolling, the world stopped working.
With the word being it will be loosely based on the beloved Batman story, ‘The Long Halloween’, as well as a stellar cast, the film is shaping up to be epic.
