Michael Mann Wants To Make A Heat Prequel

a Heat 2 movie is happening soon and director Michael Mann teases a possible Adam Driver role.

While gearing up to write this article, I realized how long it’s been since I’ve watched Heat. One of the great crime films of teh last 30 or so years, that also starred two of the greatest actors of our times, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. The stellar cast also includes Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, and Ashley Judd.

Michael Mann, who wrote and directed the film recently spoke with Deadline and talks about plans for a prequel to his hit film, that would be based off a novel. You can check it out below.

“It’s a stack about 10 inches high on my desk right now. We’re on it, and I’m putting time into that and a screenplay I can’t tell you about. But I absolutely want to make a movie of the Heat prequel.”

I am absolutely in on this, and the news has got me in the mood to watch the film later today, as soon as I finish up here at LRM.

If you haven’t watched this film, I can’t stress enough to move it to the top of your queue and watch it at your earliest convenience. The film appears to have had a pretty heavy influence on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. There are several videos on YouTube showcasing the similarities.
