The Batman Is Back In Production Following COVID-19 Hiatus

The Batman runtime revealed

Batman is back from COVID!

You can all relax now. The Batman is perfectly fine and back underway. It was exactly two weeks ago that production on the DC film was halted. The reason? Some member of the team tested positive for COVID-19. At first, it was unclear who the person was, but Vanity Fair was quick to state that start Robert Pattinson was the one who got sick. Warner Bros. neither confirmed nor denied whether or not this was the case, but multiple outlets corroborated the report nonetheless.

Well, if you had any concern for Pattinson or The Batman, you can rest easy. Variety is now reporting that the film is now back in front of cameras.

“Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on The Batman in the U.K.,” a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures told the outlet.

No further details were given, and Pattinson has still yet to be 100% confirmed by the studio as the one with COVID-19. Luckily, it doesn’t matter anymore. Pattinson and everyone else involved in production have likely been tested and are ready to dive back into the Caped Crusader plot.

Last we heard, the production had finished roughly 25% of the movie. This means there’s still a sizable chunk of the script that needs to be realized. The Batman also stars Paul Dano, Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, and Andy Serkis, among many others. Filmmaker Matt Reeves of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes fame is reinterpreting the Batman once again, this time as more of a mystery film than ever before.
