The anchor of the tech start-up is not its CEO or investors. The backbone of the company, in fact, is the primary programmer who toes the line of its success or failure. In the short film The Coder, a computer programmer is in a high-anxiety situation when the system starts to break down due to the pressures from its overly optimistic CEO, investors, customers, and junior programmers.
Here is the official synopsis:
Mary’s crypto startup and mental health are spiraling. A flood of emails reported the app losing customers’ money, her thoughts keep fracturing, and her CEO, Thad, seems ready to drive them all off a cliff. Time is running out for Mary to rally her team and avert catastrophe—or risk more than just her company collapsing.
The short film stars Abbey Toot, Mickey O’Sullivan, Sean Kazarian, Yuchi Chiu, Watson Swift, and Denise Smolarek. Will Crouse directed and wrote the short film.
