The Mandalorian is currently the darling of a galaxy far far away. Not only is the show a huge success for Disney, but the series is also breaking incredible new ground in visual effects. Some of your may have read LRM‘s previous articles on the technology known as the Volume. And if you haven’t seen it yet, prepare yourself.

Star Wars fans and fans of film, in general, should really geek out on this sort of stuff, I know I do. Part of my borderline obsession with film and television comes from a fascination with how the content is made. I always enjoy featurettes and love to see unfinished scenes. It’s sort of like seeing how a magician does a trick, but instead of the experience being ruined, it’s enhanced.
Star Wars has always been at the forefront of special effects. The crew of the original Star Wars trilogy oftentimes having to invent technology out of necessity. And it seems the crew of The Mandalorian is keeping that tradition alive.
