The Mandalorian Season 2: Every Planet We Noticed From The New Trailer

Well, it has finally arrived! The highly anticipated trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian debuted earlier today.

While the trailer didn’t reveal a whole lot in regards to cast, it did show that Mando will be traveling far and wide this season. The trailer shows our favorite bounty hunter traveling to different planets in what is assumed to be a search for a Jedi to return The Child.  While some of the planets may look familiar from Season 1, there were some that we have never seen on film or TV.  Then there are some planets that we may have seen from a recent video game Jedi: Fallen Order.

As promised from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the second season of The Mandalorian will expand the Star Wars universe. If you didn’t get a chance to check out the trailer you can watch it above. If you’ve seen it already, let’s dive into what we’ve seen.

Nevarro

Mandalorian Season 2 Nevarro

We last saw both Greef Karga and Cara Dune on Nevarro, where it seemed Greef was going to reorganize the Guild. It was not a shock to here that both Carl Weathers and Gina Carano would be back for Season 2 of The Mandalorian. So when we see them both in the trailer, it is easy to tell they are on the planet where the journey for Mando started.

I don’t expect Nevarro to feature a lot like it was in the first season.

Tatooine

Mandalorian Season 2 Tatooine

There is a quick glimpse of the Razor Crest flying over with a Tusken Raider riding on a Bantha. Both Tuskens and Banthas are indigenous to the planet of Tatooine, where our favorite Jedis grew up.  Both Anakin and Luke were raised on Tatooine, so maybe Din Djarin is looking for some connection to the Skywalker’s to return The Child. There is also a scene where two gamoreean’s fighting in a ring, which could also be at our favorite spaceport from A New Hope.

Mon Calamari

Mandalorian Season 2 Mon Calamari

Mon Calamari is the home to an array of water species, but mainly the Quarren and the Mon Calamaians. In the clip, we see with Mando and The Child they are on a ship and then a shipyard where both species lived.  It is also in this scene we see Sasha Banks (rumored to be Sabine Wren) watching Mando from a distant before she disappears. It could be that Mando is looking for Ahsoka and Sabine and was sent to Mon Calamari to find them.

Zeffo

Scout Trooper Zeffo

Okay, so out of all the scenes and planets, this is more speculation.  There is a scene where we see scout troopers hop on speeder bikes down into a trench chasing after someone or something.  Also, there is a scene where Mando jumps using his rock pack into the same trench. While there isn’t a whole lot to go off on here, my best bet is this is the planet Zeffo, a planet that was featured heavily in Jedi: Fallen Order and has a lot to do with the Jedi Order. Zeffoians who inhabit the planet are force wielders and so Mando could be traveling there to see if the Child belongs there.

Ilum

Mandalorian Season 2 Ilum

It is weird. In the Star Wars universe there aren’t a lot of really cold planets. Ilum, though, is probably the most important planet in all of the Star Wars universe. It is the planet where Jedi younglings were sent to find their first kyber crystals for their lightsabers. It has been mentioned or seen in the Clone Wars animated series, Jedi: Fallen Order, and then The Force Awakens.  The First Oder converted Ilum into Starkiller Base because of the amount of energy from the kyber crystals could produce the ultimate blast. It would make sense for Din Djarin to bring The Child here since it was home to the Jedi for a while.  He might be looking for clues to locate a certain Jedi.
