Tom Holland On Playing Spider-Man More Than Any Other Actor, Down To Play Him More

I remember the days when seeing an actor actually return for a sequel of any sort was a big deal. More often than not, sequels were made as cash grabs, and actors would often not sign on the dotted line for another go-around — usually due to terrible scripts or even in a dip in budget. Those days are over, and Marvel Studios has since changed the game when it comes to actors signing multi-film contracts.

The same goes for actor Tom Holland who, several years back, signed a multi-film contract for the character’s appearance in Civil War, two standalone Spider-Man films, and of course the last two Avengers films. With those five films under his belt, he has easily acted as Spider-Man the most number of times than any other actor. Here’s what Holland had to say about this reality to /Film:

“It feels pretty good, man. It’s an amazing experience as an actor, and such a privileged experience as an actor, to get to play a character that you love so much time and time again. I definitely have the mindset of: if you want to make twenty of these movies, then I’m down, because it’s really fun. So it’s been a real privilege and so much fun. Maybe even more fun this time around than the last one, so it’s been great.”

So there you have it. Holland is ready and willing to play this character as many times as possible — assuming the movies retain their high level of quality, of course. What I have to wonder, though, is whether or not Holland has played Spider-Man for the most number of minutes on screen. Between all of his appearances in the five movies, can it trounce Tobey Maguire in his Spider-Man movies?
