Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke understand the value of friendship with SpongeBob and Patrick. In fact, they understand the friendship with everyone at Bikini Bottom.

In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, SpongeBob, his best friend Patrick, and the Bikini Bottom gang star in their most epic adventure movie yet. When SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary goes missing, a path of clues leads SpongeBob and Patrick to the powerful King Poseidon, who has Gary held captive in the Lost City of Atlantic City. On their mission to save Gary, SpongeBob and his pals team up for a heroic and hilarious journey where they discover nothing is stronger than the power of friendship.

All the voice actors return, including Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), and Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy). They’re joined by new voices from Awkwafina (Otto), Reggie Watts (Chancellor), and Matt Berry (Poseidon). And, even a couple of surprise appearances from Keanu Reeves (Sage), Danny Trejo (El Diablo), and Snoop Dogg (The Gambler).

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with the leading voice actors Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke on the longevity of their characters for the past 25 years and their friendship.

Tom Kenny started with stand-up comedy in Boston and San Francisco. He had regular stand-up stints on shows such as The Dennis Miller Show, The Pat Sajak Show, and Light Night with Conan O’Brien. Besides lending his voice to SpongeBob SquarePants, he supplied the voice to Dexter’s Laboratory, Justice League, The Powerpuff Girls, and Johnny Bravo.

Bill Fagerbakke voiced Patrick on SpongeBob since the beginning. He played Michael “Dauber” Dybinski on the sitcom Coach. Also, he appeared in 12 episodes of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother as Marshall Eriksen’s father Marvin.

The SpongeBob Movie: The Sponge on the Run is available on Premium Video-On-Demand (PVOD) and on Paramount+ streaming service.
