We Can’t Let Go Of The 90s: The New Tamagotchi Pix Comes With A Camera

I’m sure some of you remember owning a Tamagotchi as a kid. When you first got it, you were so excited, played with it, tried to keep the thing alive, and inevitably shoved it in your drawer to collect dust like so many of your other toys. The Tamagotchi has returned, but now, it comes with a camera. The new Tamagotchi Pix, launched by parent company, Bandai America, is available to pre-order now at $59.99 and will go on sale in July.

NOW FOR THE FEATURES

The Tamagotchi Pix does have some classic features. The new virtual pet will be egg-shaped and have three buttons. However, the screen is in color with four color eggs to choose from. With a camera now added, you can take selfies with your pet. You can cook for your pet or just have food delivered. There is an explore mode as well where you can play with other Tamagotchi friends. Through a Tama Code, you can connect with your friends and even set up play dates. You don’t need Wifi to play with your pet so you can play anytime you like. There are 17 games where you can earn Gotchi points to keep your Tamagotchi happy and even missions to complete on Tamagotchi.com.

IT’S NOT THE FIRST TO COME BACK

Bandai had a mini version they released in 2017 to celebrate its 20th anniversary in North America. They released the Tamagotchi On in 2019, which gave us Tamagotchi on a color device.

I’m curious what playing with this new Tamagotchi will be like. Could this be a hot Christmas gift? What to do think of the new Tamagotchi? Let me know in the comments.
