Why Skeet Ulrich Is Leaving Riverdale Series

The CW has been home to many of our favorite classic comic book characters. This includes the characters from the pages of Archie Comics. Names like Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones. Their popularity in the pages of comic books has now transferred to the small screen in Riverdale. The series debuted back in 2017 and its success has led it to now be renewed for a fifth season that is currently scheduled to be released in January 2021.

But that doesn’t mean that it’s all good in Riverdale. Series that have a longer life span have to deal with cast members exiting after years of recurring roles. Such is the case for Riverdale star Skeet Ulrich, who plays one of my favorite characters on Riverdale, FP Jones, Jughead’s dad. It was revealed earlier this year that Ulrich would not be returning to Riverdale for its fifth season.

During a recent Instagram live stream, Ulrich gave his reason for leaving the series. He very bluntly revealed that he was “bored creatively”. A fan was able to capture the moment from the live stream and post it on his Twitter account. You can check it out below!

As a fan of the series, I must say that I am very bummed to hear that he is leaving the series. For me he was one of the best parts of the show. Heck I was even FP for Halloween last year. But an actor should leave a project than force themselves and be miserable on set. This is something that audiences can usually see while watching them on screen anyway. I look forward to seeing Ulrich in future roles.
