William Shatner Would Join Tarantino’s Star Trek Film

With Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek film now officially announced, a science fiction legend, who was part of the original landmark Star Trek series, William Shatner, has chimed in with his thoughts on potentially coming aboard the project.

In a recent tweet, Shatner appears to be up for appearing in the film — pending a strong script, of course. You can see the post below

It would be a nice nod to bring Shatner in, and with Tarantino’s love of classic actors, I would say there is a good chance we will see Shatner in the film in some capacity. This is the second TV actor who has expressed his desire to join the film — the other being Patrick Stewart.

The whole project is quite bizarre to me, it quickly went from a, “yeah, right,” type of rumor to being official. The director pairing just seems so unusual for Tarantino, which makes me incredibly interested the film. Tarantino’s films are filled with violence, cursing, most of all great dialogue. I cannot wait to see how these elements are blended with the sci-fi world of Star Trek, and hopefully with William Shatner’s well-known skill of overacting.

I was never really a trekkie, when it came to stories about the stars, I always sided with the wars, hands down. Having said that, I have really enjoyed the J.J Abrams Star Trek films.
