Bit of a strange one, as X-Men comic book writer Chris Claremont seemingly spoils Avengers: Doomsday details at a recent convention appearance. Claremont appeared at Huntsville Pop Culture Expo over the weekend and the writer has consulted with Marvel Studios before. You can check the video below, but here’s the main points he seems to be claiming will happen in Avengers: Doomsday.
Robert Downey Jr. will be playing several characters, including Iron Man.
Chris Evans will play an evil Cap [Captain Hydra].
Liz Olsen returns as a good Scarlet Witch.
Psylocke is coming back and Wolverine kills someone very important.
One could argue Claremont is guessing, or assuming. One could also argue he maybe didn’t realise he was spoiling anything and it’s legit. I have no idea, but check the video out for yourself and decide.

I’m sure the one that will get most fans curious is what Claremont said about RDJ playing multiple characters, including Iron Man. I guess we could see some Iron Man variants from other Universes in addition to his turn as the [probably] lead character Victor Von Doom.
We’ve heard Captain Hydra rumors before, even for The Kang Dynasty version of this film. Chris Evans has always denied it, but then he denied he was in Deadpool & Wolverine until he was in it, so who knows?
As for Scarlet Witch, it’s a story we’ve covered before. The actress is actually unavailable for filming currently in London and is most definitely in the States making a TV series. I’ll therefore guess is Wanda does return, it’s more of a tease for Secret Wars. But hey, what do I know?
