Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys Release Date And First Look Clips

The Amazon Prime Video adaptation of The Boys is not what the audiences are used to seeing from series or films that feature super-powered beings. This is a world where greed, lust, and power dictate the actions of super-powered beings. But as bad as crazy as you think the series is, it’s nothing compared to the source material written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. With the plot twists at the end of the first season, we’ve all been patiently waiting for the return of The Boys.

Today Amazon Prime Video announced that the second season of The Boys will be returning on September 4th, 2020. It will kick off its second season by releasing not one but three episodes. The series will run through October 9th, when it will conclude with what promises to be an epic season finale. The news came during a very entertaining virtual event hosted by Patton Oswalt. He will also be making an appearance in the second season of the series.

The virtual event for The Boys included a clip that featured the first look at Aya Cash’s Stormfront. A new social-media-savvy Supe that will somehow threaten the leadership of Homelander, played by Anthony Starr. You can check out that clip below!

Here is the synopsis for the second season of The Boys:
The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social-media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

Along with the already mentioned cast members above in the synopsis, the series also includes Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell. Also recurring in the series are Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins and Giancarlo Esposito returning as Vought boss Stan Edgar, among others.

Creator and executive producer Eric Kripke gave us the first three minutes of the second season. You can check it out at about the 47:30 minute mark on the video of the virtual event. Feel free to see the rest of the event as the cast answer questions about the series.

Like the first season this upcoming season looks like it’s going to be as bad if not worse (in a good way). I thought that Starr did a fantastic job as Highlander. Now I look forward to seeing him in a chess match with the incoming Stormfront. Are you ready for the next season of The Boys? Let us know in the comment section below!
