A while back we heard rumblings of A remake of a classic film in, The Princess Bride. Many were not on board with this idea, but it looks like the film is getting remade anyway, though not in the way you might think. A handful of celebrities are remaking the film, at home. Among them are Jack Black, Elijah Wood, Taika Waititi, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, and Pedro Pascal.

Beginning on Monday the remake will be released in chapters on the newly debuted streaming service Quibi. You can check out an Instagram post from VanityFair about the project below.

Director Jason Reitman:

“They’re all donating their time. They’ve been working tirelessly for the last two to three months to create an entire movie from scratch, just because. The money is for a good cause, and it’s fun to connect with a movie you love. In recreating it you get to feel a little bit of what it was like to make the original.”

I think this is a great way for fans to see a bit of a different take on the classic film, as well as a way for the celebrities involved to show some homage. It is technically a remake but in no way will it infringe upon, or do anything to hurt the original.

Not long ago fans around the world, spanning several countries produced a similar project with a remake of Back to the Future Part II. the results were truly awesome, as every fan put there own little something into the scene they recreated.
