Last year Disney completed their next step in world domination by purchasing 20th Century Fox, most importantly for us geeks, it meant that the X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four would no longer be estranged from their Marvel family and be able to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However with what’s going on in the world at the moment we potentially have an unexpected turn of events, it seems the House of Mouse could be the one up for sale this time. Check out what Bernie McTernan, an analyst at Rosenblatt Securities had to say in a recent report below.
“We believe those with long-time horizons, like mega-cap companies with large cash balances and whose equity outperformed Disney over the last three weeks, like Apple, could take advantage of the volatility. The upside from acquiring Disney would be securing their content/streaming strategy and potential synergies from adding the emerging Disney ecosystem to the iOS platform.”

I have to say, never thought I’d see an article where Disney would be available for purchase, granted this isn’t something that is or could actually happen, not at this stage anyway. With all the properties that Disney owns and the potential profit from said properties, the company would have to be in dire straits or receive a Corleone style offer they couldn’t refuse.
McTernanover also noted:
“Over the last three weeks Disney has lost about $85 billion or roughly one-third of its market cap.”
Golly gee wilikers Mister, that’s a whole bunch of money. Having said that, if any company could recover that it would be Disney, with their many, many avenues for potential revenue.
