Bruce Willis Says Die Hard Isn’t A Christmas Movie

The movie that spawned the modern action flick, Die Hard, has always been thought of by many fans as a Christmas movie, not only that but it is many fans’ favorite Christmas movie. The film’s star, the legendary Bruce Willis, decalred his opinion to be quite the opposite when he was was honored last night at The Comedy Central The Roast of Bruce Willis. After taking insults from people such as Jeffrey Ross, Edward Norton, and Dennis Rodman, Willis took to the mic to return the favor, ending his turn with the following quote.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie!”

While Willis’ opinion weighs heavier than the average person’s, I don’t think this is going to do much to change the minds of fans that think it is a Christmas movie. Like many things about cinema the matter is subjective, each one of us have our reasons no matter which side of the argument we fall on. I would say the time of year the film is set makes it hard to argue against it being a Christmas movie, even though the plot isn’t really Christmas themed.

As for me personally, I will use the following image to express my opinion.
