Captain America Turns 80 This March! Marvel Pays Tribute With A Giant-Sized Comic Book!

It is amazing the impact that some comic book characters can have on readers/viewers for multiple generations. Let’s take Marvel’s Steve Rogers aka Captain America. Who was front and center in one of the most iconic scenes in superhero movie history? Who will ever forget the moment in Avengers: Endgame? Where he was joined by the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take on Thanos and his forces with the fate of the Universe in the balance! Next year, Captain America reaches a new milestone.

Captain America turns 80 years old in 2021. In March of 1941, comic book legends Jack Kirby and Joe Simon introduced the Marvel Universe to Steve Rodgers. In the historic Marvel comic book Captain America #1. Since then he has been a symbol of freedom and has been featured on every platform. Next year, Marvel will be honoring this grand occasion with Captain America Tribute #1. A giant-sized special celebrating the character’s eightieth anniversary. The book will feature a group of Marvel’s best artists redrawing and modernizing Captain America’s first appearance. As well as his genre-defining reintroduction to the Marvel Universe, Stan Lee and Kirby’s Avengers #4. Featured will be the Star-Spangled Avenger’s extraordinary origin. His battle with Red Skull, and his Silver Age debut where he emerges from suspended animation to live on as a Star-Spangled Avenger. These stories will be presented in an all-new way in a star-studded special that will delight long-time True Believers and the current generation of fans.
