Christopher McQuarrie Says The Rumors Of Him Turning Down DC Films Aren’t True

The internet went nuts yesterday as news got around that Mission Impossible: Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct a number of future films in the franchise. LRM’s own Nick Doll was as excited as one could be about the news, as he is a huge fan of the franchise.

The director has also recently been linked to the DC Universe, the rumor claims he turned down more than one DC film in order to take on the Mission Impossible films. Today, McQuarrie himself posted a tweet that contradicts these rumors, even going as far as to call anything related to DC not coming him as “horses**t” in the comments of the tweet.

McQuarrie says the reports are not accurate, which leads me to believe that some part, even a small part of this rumor may be true or that there is possibly more to the story than is being reported. Hopefully whatever is going on will soon come out in full.

While DC has been on the up trend with Wonder Woman, and most recently Aquaman, adding in a guy like McQuarrie would be a great move. McQuarrie wrote The Usual Suspects, which is considered by many to be one of the best films of all time.
