Director Tony Glazer’s new genre film Dead Sound screams Cape Fear. Seriously, I’m getting all sorts of sociopath killer vibes from the trailer. I am digging the setup. The situation presented is one that no one wants to be in. Furthermore, the movie is based on true events. Plus the horrible thing about being in the open water when $&^! hits the fan is there’s nowhere to run or hide so you just get splattered. In a situation like this what do you do? Charge the gunman? Not in Dead Sound. At least not according to what’s show in the trailer.

Dead Sound stars The Walking Dead’s Jeff Kober, Terminator: Dark Fate’s Bret Azar, and Stranger Things’ Matty Cardarople. Here’s the synopsis for Dead Sound.

“Four best friends from boarding school decide to attend a massive blow-out High School graduation party on Block Island. After missing the last ferry they decide to hire a fishing boat to take them on what should be a simple journey. What they get is the trip from hell, with a captain and his first mate that have no intention of taking the kids to Block Island, putting them into a fight to survive and to simply make it back to land… any land.”
