If there was any question as to whether or not Disney owned Fox, let this be the end of such a question. Yes, The Simpsons is already all on Disney+ for everyone to enjoy, but the years of real cross-pollination are still to come. Let 2020 be the year that Disney’s properties really start to intermingle. For better or worse, the era where The Simpsons can be seen as its own separate and edgy entity is a thing of the past.
For starters comes a clip from an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. As was revealed months and months ago, Marvel Studios Kevin Feige is making his Simpsons debut. Only he won’t be showing up as himself like many celebrities. Instead, he will be showing up as the villainous Chinnos, who’s bent on destroying the world with a doomsday app.
Now, Fox has revealed a clip from the show, which features Feige’s voice acting chops.
But that’s not all the evidence we have for the House of Mouse fully absorbing The Simpsons. A recent tweet from the official Simpsons account has revealed that a new short will air in front of Disney and Pixar’s Onward. That’s right, this new short will be featured exclusively in theaters.

While Pixar hasn’t managed to put shorts in front of all of their films, they are well-known for the short content that they put out there. It’s often a way they develop new talent and further push their technology. As such, they are a big part of the Pixar and Disney brand. What does it mean that they’re now letting other studios horn in on their pre-show parade?
To be clear, I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but it’s an interesting move from Disney and I can’t help but wonder if it’s a harbinger of things to come. What do you think of these developments?
