EA Reveals New Exciting Star Wars: Squadrons Gameplay Trailer

Just about a week ago the official XBOX website let the cat out of the bag about the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons from EA. Then on Monday we got out first look at what this game was all about. It’s going to be a massive starfighter dogfighting game.

Today during the EA Play Live 2020, the video game publisher unveiled brand new footage from the game. This featured various elements of the game. Everything from the way the single and multi-player modes are going to wor, character creation, ship customization, and changeable weapons. You can check it out above!

Star Wars: Squadrons is a first-person space shooter that focuses on five on five team battles using a variety of classic Star Wars ships. The ships are broken down into four different categories. These include a fighter, interceptor, support, and bomber. In the video we can see recognizable ships like the X-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing, U-Wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, and TIE Reaper fighters.

The game will have what they call their “signature” mode online called Fleet Battles. This is a three-stage mission that a five-person squadron is going to have to progress through. The first stage is a dogfight in the middle of the map. The second is either attacking or defending a medium-sized capital ship. Last and certainly not least will be the final stage that consists of defending or destroying a flagship. As seen in the clip, it could be an Imperial Star Destroyer or a Mon Calamari Cruiser.

This single-player campaign is also very interesting. Here players will have the option to play the whole thing in VR. This will put players as close as you can get to the action. You will play as both a Republic and Imperial pilot that will alternate during missions. This campaign takes place sometime after Return of the Jedi.

This game looks amazing and I am looking forward to playing this on VR. Also I am excited to be able to customize the fighters. Changing the look and the weapons on the ships is going to make it a lot more interesting. What makes it even more appealing is the low price point of $39.99. Also it’s great that it will include cross-play between platforms. Are you excited for Star Wars: Squadrons? Let us know in the comment section below!
