Today saw Xbox host their Xbox Series X Gameplay Event. Most of the games on show were Xbox One and Ps4 games which will be auto-upgraded using ‘Smart Delivery’ to provide an enhanced experience on the SeX. However, there was one next-gen title that caught my eye, Scorn. It’s clear right away that this game was influenced by the work of H.R. Giger. I almost thought it was going to be an Alien game initially. Check out the Scorn game trailer below.
Scorn is a first-person shooter, horror game from Ebb Software. The game has you control a skinless humanoid, lost in the bizarre sci-fi nightmare of a world you see in the trailer above. Pretty crazy for a video game and immediately, this captures my interest. Even the guns the players will use in Scorn are made up of some biological flesh. The player will use these guns to explore the world looking for answers in a non-linear narrative.

Scorn‘s developers have previously spoken about how they want to use the experience of being flung into this strange world as a gameplay tool. That means keeping lots under wraps until gamers get their hands on Scorn for real. No release date has yet been set for the game, which has been in development for quite a few years already. Unfortunately, there is no actual gameplay footage of Scorn in this trailer. As such all you get is a general feel for the design of Scorn. That’s not a lot to go on, and I’ll be disappointed if the actual game doesn’t live up to this reveal trailer. It looks like Scorn will offer a very unique world to explore and that’s actually uncommon in video games these days.
