I have a good feeling about this. If you haven’t heard, over the weekend Ian McDiarmid, who brought the character of Sheev Palpatine to new heights, was spotted with none other than Darth Vader himself, Hayden Christensen. Yep, the two visited a children’s hospital together in Salt Lake City, Utah, and were set to attend the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention.
The duo’s appearance at the convention was canceled by Disney. But why? Well, obviously Christensen is set to return in The Rise of Skywalker, and they wanted to try their best to hide, right? If that’s the case, then why schedule them to appear in the first place? How did that grain of salt taste? You folks get my point. Nothing has been confirmed by the House of Mouse, though many are taking the cancellation as such.

Personally, I think Christensen is coming back. The Rise of Skywalker is set to tie all of the nine saga films together, and you can’t really do that without the man who would become Darth Vader. Actually, thinking about it, why wouldn’t either Anakin, Vader, or both of them return for this last entry into the saga? I mean, at one time, he was the Skywalker the saga is named for. The statement, “Anakin Skywalker is coming back in Episode IX,” should be met with a, “Thank you, detective,” or the at one-time classic, but now overused, “No s**t Sherlock,” though I prefer the former.
All right, Disney, you have one more chance, there will be a substantial reward for you should the film somehow tie the saga together in satisfying ways. You are free to use any means necessary, wait, no you’re not, you folks should actually be super careful. Most of all, do not fail me again, or I will promote someone else to Admiral.
