Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is consulting on Thor: Love and Thunder. Gunn directed both Guardians of the Galaxy movies and will return to the MCU to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Right now Gunn is putting the finishing touches on his DCEU movie The Suicide Squad. However, the next time his Guardians characters appear in screen will be in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder has just begun filming in Australia and outside of Gamora, the rest of the Guardians will appear in that movie. Gunn was therefore asked on social media if he was consulting with director Taiki Waititi about his characters.
Yes. Have been doing. They’re in great hands with @TaikaWaititi. https://t.co/AtGv7OQJkw

The plot of Thor: Love and Thunder is still pretty much under wraps, but we do know a few things. First off we know Jane Foster will become Thor in the movie, and she will also have Cancer, as per the comic source. We know that Christian Bale will play Gorr the Butcher, presumably the antagonist of the movie. Space Sharks will be present as per the quotes of Taiki Waititi himself. The Guardians of the Galaxy will all feature other than Gamora, and it seems so will Heimdall, which is curious since he is dead.

However despite all we do know, there seems far more we do not. Recent rumors on the grapevine have said Bale could stick around beyond this fourth Thor movie. However, that is not a solid rumor for me, yet.
So what do we think Thor: Love and Thunder will actually be about? Honestly, that’s the hard part to guess right now. Using Ragnarok for reference and Waititi’s own words that Love and Thunder makes Ragnarok look safe, this movie could be bonkers. I’m not even close to predicting what kind of plot we will get for Thor and friends this time around.
