DC has had some questionable castings over the years. While some worked out in fantastic ways, such as Heath Ledger’s turn as The Joker, others, such as Jared Leto as The Joker and the subject of this article, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, which has received mixed feelings from moviegoers.

Personally, I think Eisenberg did pretty good as Luthor, considering the film he portrayed the character in had many of its own issues (pacing being at the top of the list for me). However, the actor says he would love to return as the character. Eisenberg recently spoke with INTHEPANDA and made his feelings for respring Lex Luthor known. You can check it out below.

“Oh yeah, I would love to because it’s such a cool character. To play a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine but the villain is the fun part cause you get to be more flamboyant. The hero usually gets to survive but the villain has all the funny lines.”

I think Eisenberg has the right chops to give us a maniacal Lex Luthor, as long as the character is placed within the right setting, which I don’t think he was in Justice League. The picture I have in my head would be Eisenberg’s Mark Zuckerberg from The Social Network, with a healthy interest in both destroying Superman and world domination.

However, whether it’s Eisenberg or someone new, it would be nice to see both Superman and Lex Luthor back on the big screen in the near future.
