Brazil made the oscar entry list with Private Desert. Aly Muritiba is the filmmaker of a story that breaks the stereotype.
The Synopsis
40-year-old Daniel has been suspended from active police work and is under internal investigation for violence. When Sara, his internet love affair, stops answering his texts he decides to drive north in search of her starting on what is apparently a fool’s errand. He shows Sara’s picture around, but nobody seems to recognize the woman until eventually a guy pops up saying he can put the two in touch under very specific conditions.

Aly Muritiba started his career making short films like A Fábrica and short documentaries like Pátio. He moved on to full length films with Circular, To My Beloved and Rust among others. Television work is also on his resume with television series like Brotherhood, Irmãos Freitas and The Evandro Case: A Devilish Plot.
